Scalp needle manipulation

Definition
Subcutaneous needling of scalp lines/zones with rapid twirling (200 rpm) or continuous stimulation; in Zhu combined with movement practice (Dao Yin).
Steps
15–30° angle to the galea → advance 1–3 cm → rapid twirling 1–3 min, repeated every 10 min → the patient moves the limb.
Tools
0.30 × 40 mm needles.
Indications
Stroke, paralysis, motor and sensory disorders, pain.
Contraindications
Skull fracture, infants with open fontanelle, acute cerebral haemorrhage.
